Summer Happenings In Your Neighborhood!

With summer season now in full swing, it is time to sit back and enjoy all the season has to offer! We recommend weekends at the cabin, lazy Sunday afternoons outdoors, grilling out, and gardening. However, if you are looking for a little more activity, check out one of these events taking place in your neighborhood!Minnesota Children's Museum Presents Breakfast With Curious GeorgeA celebrity among the ten and under crowd has rolled into town and taken up residence at the Minnesota Children's Museum - Curious George that is!  As part of this special traveling exhibit, young and old alike can climb into the imaginative world of Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat and push, pull and problem solve their way through pint-sized math and science adventures.  As an added bonus, for select Saturdays through the end of July, George will be hosting a continental breakfast, complete with reading time, arts and crafts and photo opportunities with your favorite monkey!  Tickets are $10.00 for MCM members, $18.00 for non-members, and available here.Family Fun Day At The BasillicaPut on your dancing shoes and head to the The Basillica for Family Fun Day on July 8th.  Enjoy the musical styling of children's entertainer Laurie Berkner, with special guests, The Okee Dokee Brothers.   If dancing isn't your thing, visit the Creative Kidstuff Arts and Crafts tents, play in the Move and Groove Playground, and participate in activity areas.  For tickets and more information check out the Family Fun Day website.Uptown Art FairIf you're feeling artsy head to the Uptown Art Fair, August 3 - 5, and visit with over 350 artists from around the world.  Mediums represented include sculpture, painting, ceramics, jewelry, mixed media, and more.  Enjoy festival food and entertainment or partake in family friendly activities at the family imagination stations!Minnesota Fringe FestivalTaking place throughout the Twin Cities, August 2 - 12, the MN Fringe Festival features a theatrical experience for everyone.  Enjoy over 800 shows, each less than an hour in length, taking place over the duration of the eleven day festival.  For full festival schedule and lineup, visit the Fringe Festival website.
